thanks Sara. I'm still a little confused by this: so our Britax Roundabout goes up to 40lb and 40in and my son is a skinny beanpole who is 40in but not near 40lb. Now does that mean he can continue in his car seat? If it's safe for him to be taller than the recommended limit and sit in the same car seat, I'd obviously prefer that to a booster. I checked out the Graco Nautilus which as you say goes up higher weight wise but it does not mention anything about the height limit.

It goes from 5 point-harness (up to 65 pounds), to high back booster to booster. I think it tops out at 85 pounds. My daughter is quite happy with it (it has a cup holder and little side pockets--how cool is that?!).
My almost-4 year old is 40 inches tall as of today and his Britax Roundabout car seat only goes upto 40 inches. So...my question is...do we now switch him to a booster and if yes, does anyone have recommendations? Or are there bigger car seats for preschoolers?
Thanks!
