[Parentsgroup-list] Parentsgroup-list Digest, Vol 733, Issue 3

I have to add more negative experiences with Holzman that are unrelated to
vaccines. In particular, she insisted that our baby be put under bilirubin
lights for 24 hours at the hospital 2 days after his birth for what later
turned out to be levels within the normal range. This was especially
problematic since his bili levels were off because he was taken from me for
various screenings and to be circumcised right when he was trying to eat,
and then was too sleepy afterward to eat well--a classic situation for
little babies to develop some jaundice. Dr. Holzman also repeatedly
emphasized that breast feeding often fails, both before and after the birth,
and insisted we supplement our newborn with formula at the hospital because
of the jaundice. We never had problems with nursing, but he did develop an
intolerance of cow's milk proteins at 2 weeks old that we are still dealing
with at 7 months old.

We've seen her since when our little one was sick, and it was fine, but I
definitely would not want to see her at the hospital after the delivery (if
it could be helped) or for WBV. I knew there had been complaints about her
on this list but thought they were probably overblown; I now wish I had been
more cautious.
