Hi Boot Campers,

Do you want to be web
scale<http://nosql.mypopescu.com/post/1016320617/mongodb-is-web-scale>?
To you at least want to be able to join the fun when your friends joke
about mySQL? Or, more generally, have you ever wondered how
(censored<http://howfuckedismydatabase.com/>)
your database is?

Well then boy, do we have the Boot Camp session for you. Here HCS's very
own former Twitter and Facebook interns spar head to head as they discuss
the benefits and drawbacks of various ways of storing data, focusing
particularly on the distinction between mySQL and NoSQL.

This session is highly recommended for people interested in storing data
somewhere other than NTFS <http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1489>,
people who want a primer on storage technologies that are deployed at scale
in contemporary web companies, and people interested in preparing themselves
for the most optimized form of general world
domination<http://www.computer.org/portal/web/csdl/doi/10.1109/MIS.2009.36>
.

Come one, come all, be in the SOCH penthouse by 8PM tomorrow (Monday, 11/8),
and stay for pizza.

See you there,
Jim
