I wanted to inform you of an upcoming tour of the new Sherman-Fairchild building that may be of interest. There are many unique energy-efficient features to the building, and it is on track to achieve LEED platinum certification with the US Green Building Council. This a particularly exciting accomplishment for a life sciences laboratory! Please feel free to join us if you can make it!
Join us on Tuesday, January 17th, 3-4 and 4-5pm for a tour of Harvard's newest and greenest laboratory building. Sherman-Fairchild (home of the Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology Department) opened this summer and features a number of unique features, including chilled beams, a grey-water reuse system, a heat recovery system, and state-of-the-art lighting technology. This is your chance to learn first hand about the features that have dramatically reduced the amount of energy used per occupant in the building.
Space is limited. Please rsvp by Jan.13th and indicate your time preference by emailing energy at fas.harvard.edu. Vincent Pafumi and John Hollister, FAS's senior project managers will lead the tour. The event is offered in partnership with the FAS Green Program.
