Hi everyone,

This month's Green Tip is a little different. We have two vacancies at
the Office for Sustainability. The jobs are at FAS and the Law School,
respectively, and they focus on implementing sustainable operational
practices as well as engaging the community in sustainability. More info
on specific job responsibilities and how to apply can be found here*:

In addition to these full time postings, I will be hiring a student with
strong data analysis skills run the Shut the Sash competition and
provide incentives for labs to shut their fume hoods when not in use,
which will be a 5-10 hour per week commitment for the next 12 months.
Email me if you are interested!

On an entirely unrelated note, we have a small inventory of compostable
disposable plates and utensils for zero-trash events. If your
department or lab would like to try to make its next event zero-trash
and reduce your plastic consumption, we can give out some of these items
to bridge any cost gap between traditional disposable plates & utensils,
as a one-time gesture. Let me know if you are interested!

*Here's an abbreviated blurb about the FAS job: Harvard's Office for
Sustainability is seeking a sustainability specialist to coordinate
greenhouse gas reduction efforts in administrative and academic
buildings, run engagement campaigns for administrative staff, and
provide support for communications and reporting efforts. The position
involves extensive collaboration with office staff and building
operations teams and requires the ability to work with a diverse group
of stakeholders towards integrating environmental principles into
regular operations and practices. The successful candidate will organize
best practices sharing sessions for building managers, work with green
teams and organize green office trainings, and create outreach
materials. A bachelor's degree in environmental related field is
preferred and 1-2 years of direct experience in campus sustainability is
required. Excellent interpersonal, communications and outreach skills
are essential. Review of applications will begin immediately.
