About
The purpose of starting the Harvard Sports Analysis Collective is to provide a forum where students can analyze sports and strategies using quantitative models and techniques. Guided by academic articles, faculty direction, intuition, and zeal for sports in general, the members of the club would discuss and try to refine strategies, personnel decisions, salary cap issues, and several other aspects of the sports industry. Members would meet once a week to discuss these topics and would then post any results, findings, or essays on a website accessible to the Harvard community and beyond. The group would also establish contacts with members working in the sports industry, especially local ones in the Boston area, to give lectures and conferences on campus in addition to providing resources and connections for students interested in careers in the sports industry.
